Medication therapy management services are offered by health insurance companies to help members get the best results from their medications. Included in these services are yearly medication reviews where a pharmacist assesses your prescriptions, supplements, and over the counter medications for safety and efficacy. We’ll look for potential medication conflicts, duplications, side effects, or cost savings. This also provides a great opportunity to ask us questions and further optimize your medications. We refer to these reviews as your yearly medication check-up and it is crucial to make sure that your medication needs are being met and any concerns are being addressed.
If you’re eligible for a medication review or other related services, we’ll contact you by phone or in person at the store. We will schedule a convenient time to go over your medications in person or over the phone. After the review, we’ll work with you and your doctor, if necessary, to resolve any medicine-related concerns. If needed, we can also schedule a follow up appointment to further resolve or monitor any medication changes. We will mail you a medication list as well as recap of the items that we discussed during the review. This gives you a great tool to continue the conversation with your doctor, should you still have any additional concerns.
